On perturbations for the continuous spectra of semigroup generators (English)

The paper contains a brief survey of the results (including those of the author and his coworkers) which can be used to prove the absence of a singular continuous spectrum for a self-adjoint operator \(B\) which is a perturbation of a self-adjoint operator \(A\) with a regular spectrum. The methods involve the criteria of completeness of the associated wave operators which in turn follow from the estimations of ``sandwiched'' differences of the semigroups \( e^{-tA}, e^{-tB}; t\geq 0\). Some new applications of this theory to Laplacians in \({\mathbb{R}}^d\), perturbed by localized obstacles, are presented.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0957.00037].
