Mixed finite element method for a strongly damped wave equation (English)
0 references
The authors examine a finite element method for a damped wave equation on smooth bounded domains in the plane. The domain is divided into conforming triangles, and Raviart-Thomas-Nedelec basis functions are used for both the stress and displacement. Energy estimates are used to derive error bounds.
