The author studies the existence of atomic models over sets. In particular, he proves that every locally modular extrastable theory of finite rank possesses a prime atomic model over a set \(A\) if and only if principal types are dense over \(A\). He also proves that there exist a small superstable trivial locally modular theory of finite rank and a set of indiscernibles of cardinality \(2^\omega\) in some models of it such that principal types are dense but there is no atomic model over it.
