Error terms for closed orbits of hyperbolic flows (Q2716656)

The following estimate for the number of closed orbits of a weak-mixing flow on a manifold is obtained. Let \(\pi(T)\) denote the number of closed orbits of least period at most \(T\); and let \(h>0\) be the topological entropy. It is proved that there is \(\delta>0\) such that NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \pi(T)={e^{hT} \over hT}\left(1+O(T^{-\delta})\right) NEWLINE\]NEWLINE provided the flow is either transitive Anosov or just hyperbolic. In the latter case an additional approximability condition is required.
