Let \(A\) be a bounded subset of a Banach space \(X\) and \(K\) be a weak\(^*\)-compact subset of \(X^*\). \(K\) is said to be \(A\)-fragmented if for every weak\(^*\)-compact set \(D\subseteq K\) and every \(\varepsilon> 0\) there exists a weak\(^*\)-open set \(U\) such that \(U\cap D\neq\emptyset\) and NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\sup\{\sup\{|\langle x,u^*- v^*\rangle|:x\in A\}: u^*,v^*\in U\cap D\}< \varepsilon.NEWLINE\]NEWLINE The author considers also \(A\)-universal strong measurability and \(A\)-RNP and investigates relations between these notions.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe paper is a continuation of the earlier paper by the same author [Publ. Res. Inst. Math. Sci. 35, No. 6, 921-933 (1999; Zbl 0997.46011)]. The results extend earlier characterizations of the weak\(^*\)-compact sets possessing RNP due to \textit{E. Saab} [Bull. Sci. Math., II. Ser. 104, 79-98 (1980; Zbl 0419.46020)].
