The curvature tensor of a (pseudo-)Riemannian manifold naturally defines an endomorphism on the tangent bundle or on the bundle of 2-planes. The author studies some modification of this endomorphism, called by him the skew-symmetric curvature operator, and classifies the manifolds where its eigenvalues do not depend on the 2-plane.
