Cauchy problem for telegraph equation of higher order (English)

The authors obtain the integral representation of a solution of the problem \((\square +k)^{n}u=f(x,y)\), \(\square^{m}u|_{y=0}=f_{2m}(x)\), \(\partial\square^{m}u/\partial y|_{y=0}=f_{2m+1}(x)\), \(m=0,\ldots,n-1\), where \(\square=\partial^2/\partial x^2-\partial^2/\partial y^2\); \(\square^{n}=(\partial^2/\partial x^2-\partial^2/\partial y^2)^{n}\); \(f_{j}(x)\), \(j=j,\ldots,2n-1\) are sufficiently smooth functions. The integral operator which defines a solution of the Cauchy problem for the equation \(\square^{n}u+a_1\square^{n-1}u+\ldots+a_{n}u=f(x,y)\) is used.
