The autors present a modified point mass model which describes the motion of gravity center of a rigid aircraft. The mass of the aircraft depends on time due to the fuel consumption. As flight regimes of interest for aircraft performance, the authors consider the steady straight flight and sustained turn. Finally, the authors give a numerical comparison of the presented model with a 6 degree-of-freedom model.
