Linear periodic boundary value problem for second order hyperbolic equation (English)
      0 references
      This paper deals with the linear periodic boundary value problem for the second-order hyperbolic equation \(u_{tt}-u_{xx}=g(x,t)\), \(0<x<\pi\), \(t\in \mathbb{R}\), \(u(0,t)=u(\pi,t)=0\), \(t\in \mathbb{R}\), \(u(x,t+T)=u(x,t)\), \(0\leq x\leq \pi\), \(t\in \mathbb{R}\). In spaces of \(\pi, 2\pi\) and \(4\pi\)-periodic functions the explicit classical solutions are obtained. For example, in the space \(\{g:g(x,t)=g(\pi-x,t+w/2)=g(x,t+w), w=2\pi/(2s-1)\}, s\in\mathbb{N}\) the classical solution of the considered problem has the form NEWLINE\[NEWLINEu(x,t)={1\over 4}\int\limits_{0}^{\pi}Q(\xi) d\xi\int\limits_{t+x-\xi}^{t-x+\xi}g(\xi,\tau) d\tau+ {\pi-x\over 4\pi}\int\limits_{0}^{\pi} d\xi\int\limits_{t-\xi}^{t+\xi}g(\xi,\tau) d\tau+ {x\over 4\pi}\int\limits_{0}^{\pi} d\xi\int\limits_{t-\pi+\xi}^{t+\pi-\xi}g(\xi,\tau) d\tau,NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(Q(\xi)=1\), if \(0\leq\xi\leq x\) and \(Q(\xi)=-1\), if \(x<\xi\leq\pi\).
