In view of results proven by G. E. Bredon, T. Chang and T. Skjelbred, for any finite dimensional connected \(\mathbb Z/p\)-CW complex \(X\) (\(p\) prime) such that \(H^*(X)\) is a Poincaré duality algebra, \(H^*(F)\) is also a Poincaré duality algebra, where \(F\subset X^{\mathbb Z/p}\) is a component of the fixed point set. In the paper a new, more concise proof of the above theorem is given. It uses the property that, roughly speaking, the Poincaré duality is preserved under algebraic deformations. This method depends essentially on the monograph [\textit{C. Allday} and \textit{V. Puppe}, Cohomological methods in transformation groups, Camb. Stud. Adv. Math. 32 (1993; Zbl 0799.55001)].NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0972.00054].
