Sequence-covering \(L\)-images for paracompact locally compact spaces (English)
0 references
A continuous and onto map \(f:X\to Y\) is called an \(L\)-mapping if every \(f^{-1}(y)\) is a Lindelöf subspace of \(X\). In this paper the author establishes characterizations of the images of paracompact and locally compact spaces under some sequence-covering \(L\)-mappings and compact-covering quotient \(L\)-mappings by means of a certain cover system of the spaces. For example, it is showed that a space \(X\) is a compact-covering \(L\)-image of a paracompact and locally compact space if and only if \(X\) is a space with a point-countable \(k\)-cover of compact subsets.
