Topological graph theory from Japan (Q2780955)

A survey of studies on topological graph theory developed by Japanese researchers during the last twenty years is provided here. The studies are categorized into five main topics namely re-embedding structures of graphs on surfaces, diagonal flips of triangulations on surfaces, coverings and planarity of graphs, Ramsey theorems for spatial graphs, and polynomial invariants of graphs. Each topic is outlined in a section of the paper, major theorems are cited and conjectures are formulated. Serveral smaller topics, such as book embeddings, or crossing number and thickness, etc., are compiled in a sixth section. The bibliography contains 141 entries.
