Let \(k\) be a field. Let also \(H\) be a finite group, \(\Gamma\) a discrete group and \(k[\Gamma]\rtimes k^H\) be the smash coproduct Hopf algebra associated to a given action by group automorphisms of \(H\) on \(\Gamma\). In this paper the author presents a description of the Hopf algebra quotients of \(k[\Gamma]\rtimes k^H\) in terms of triples \((G,N,\Phi)\), called quotient data, where \(G\subseteq H\) is a subgroup, \(N\subseteq\Gamma\) is a normal and \(G\)-stable subgroup of \(\Gamma\) and \(\Phi\colon N\to (k^G)^\times\) is a group homomorphism satisfying certain conditions; it is shown that every quotient datum \((G,N,\Phi)\) gives rise to a Hopf algebra quotient denoted \(k[\Gamma/N]\rtimes_\Phi k^G\) and conversely, for every Hopf algebra quotient \(L\) there exists a quotient datum \((G,N,\Phi)\) such that \(L\) is isomorphic to \(k[\Gamma/N]\rtimes_\Phi k^G\). This result is used to describe the Hopf images of smash coproduct Hopf algebras. Several examples are discussed in detail.
