Consider the system of partial differential equations NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\begin{aligned} u_t &= du_{xx}+\alpha u(\gamma- u)-{u^2w\over 1+u^2},\\ w_t &= w_{xx}- w+\beta {u^2w\over 1+u^2}.\end{aligned}\leqno{(*)}NEWLINE\]NEWLINE The authors derive conditions on the parameters in \((*)\) such that there exists a traveling wave solution \(u=u(x+ct)\), \(w=w(x+ct)\) connecting the spatially uniform equilibria of \((*)\), \(E_1= (\gamma,0)\) and \(E=(u_s,w_s)\) with \(u_s= 1/\sqrt{\beta-1}\) and \(w_s= \alpha(\gamma- u_s)(1+u^2_s)/u_s\). The corresponding boundary value problem for a system of ordinary differential equations is studied by means of Ważewski's principle.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1321.35002].
