Thermodynamics and equations of state for matter. From ideal gas to quark-gluon plasma (English)

The present review provides a comparative analysis of different thermodynamic models for various systems, with discussion of their prospects of applications in a broad class of physical systems. This is a handbook as far as it displays various thermodynamic models for various types of physical systems, but nevertheless the author has chosen to put emphasis more especially on the physics of high energy. The main purpose is to arrive at general approaches to the thermodynamic description of extreme state of matter. The book comprises thirteen chapters which are practically self-contained and which deal with various topics, some of them being quantum mechanical modelling, plasma thermodynamics, Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics methods; statistical modelling; phase transitions; relativistic plasma; extreme state and nuclear transformations; quark-gluon plasma. This is not a book for beginners in physics, but if you have the prerequisite, it is easy to read.
