Irreducible Sobol' sequences in prime power bases (English)
0 references
The authors give a generalization of Sobol' sequences that is called irreducible Sobol' (IS) sequences. They show that IS-sequences have two fundamental properties: ``\((0,1)\)-sequences for each one-dimensional projection'' and ``an easy-to-implement column-by-column construction for the generating matrices based on linear recurrences determined by monic irreducible polynomial over \(\mathbb{F}_b\) (\(b\) is a prime power)'' and that IS-sequences are included in the large family of generalized Niederreiter sequences introduced by \textit{S. Tezuka} [ACM Trans. Model. Comput. Simul. 3, No. 2, 99--107 (1993; Zbl 0846.11045)].
