The authors study the continuity of the sequential product \(A \circ B = A^{1/2} B A^{1/2}\) of effects (positive operators bounded by the identity) on a complex separable Hilbert space. It is shown that the sequential product is jointly continuous with respect to the norm topology while continuous only in the second variable with respect to the weak operator, order and interval topologies and to the order convergence.
