The authors study the homogenization of a coupling between inter-linked partly-dissipative reaction-diffusion equations and linear elasticity. The system is supposed to describe the biomechanics of the cell wall in plants. The main target of this paper is to derive macroscopic models with computable effective coefficients. The averaging procedure relies on the homogenization method involving two-scale convergence arguments and a direct use of the periodic unfolding operator.
