The author studies the Weyl function \(M(\lambda)\) of a closed linear operator acting in a complex Hilbert space. Conditions are established which guarantee that the complex number \(\lambda_0\) is a first order pole of the operator function \((M(\lambda)-M(\lambda_0))^{-1}\).
