Bending of partially supported circular plate (English)
0 references
The paper deals with a problem on bending of a thin circular plate loaded at the center by a concentrated normal force, when the plate rests on two symmetrically located contour supports of finite length. The integral Prandtl type equation is solved numerically by the mechanical quadrature technique and the method of orthogonal polynomials. It is also reduced to the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The distribution of the generalized shear force in the support is calculated and the plate deflection is determined.
