In this paper, an analytical approach is developed for the determination and analysis of an axisymmetric thermoplastic state in piecewise-homogeneous rings subject to non-stationary heating. Several calculations are made for the thermoplastic state of two- and three-layered rings. For the case when the yield point depends on the temperature, the efficiency of the approach is illustrated by the example of a problem on determining the compressive residual stresses in a plate subject to local heating by a normal-circular heat source.
