Consider the system of linear differential equations NEWLINE\[NEWLINEx^{2\alpha} {dy\over dx}= Ay\tag{\(*\)}NEWLINE\]NEWLINE for \(\alpha>1\) and under the condition that the number of linearly independent eigenvectors of the \(n\times n\)-matrix \(A\) is less than \(n\). The authors formulate a boundary value problem for \((*)\) with boundary conditions at \(x=1\) and a weighted boundary condition at the irregular singularity \(x=0\). They derive conditions for the existence of a unique solution.
