Stresses in anisotropic half-plane with notches (Q2812902)

The authors propose an algorithm for stress determination in an anisotropic half-plane with notches. The algorithm is based on the method of boundary integral equations. The integral equations are solved numerically by the method of mechanical quadratures. Stresses near the notches of different shape are studied. The characteristic features of stress distribution are determined depending on the shape and size of notches and the mechanical characteristics of plate materials. Asymptotic relations are derived to determine stress concentration factors for the narrowed notches of elliptic shape.
