This survey paper is designed to present an overview of the literature on solutions to impulsive Caputo fractional differential equations. As the authors remark, not much has been published previously about stability of solutions. The Lyapunov direct method is used here to obtain sufficient conditions for stability properties of the zero solution of nonlinear impulsive fractional differential equations. One of the main problems in fractional differential equations is the choice of an appropriate definition of the derivative of fractional order. A brief overview of those used in the literature is given, and some discussion of their advantages and disadvantages. The Caputo fractional Dini derivative is generalized to impulsive fractional differential equations and there is a discussion of stability and uniform stability. Some examples, including consideration of the Caputo population model, are given to illustrate the results.
