On the emergence of the Navier-Stokes-\(\alpha\) model for turbulent channel flows (English)

The authors accept the fact that the Navier-Stokes equations (NSE) are a good mathematical model for the dynamics of appropriately averaged turbulent fluid flows. The main objective of the authors consists in obtaining a simple Reynolds type averaging which will transform the NSE into the NS-\(\alpha\). For this purpose they will concentrate their consideration to a restricted class of fluid flows. The Reynolds averaging will be performed due to the wall roughness.NEWLINENEWLINEThe bibliography contains 15 items.
