Multiphase conductors realizing Aleksandrov's mean (English)
0 references
This paper deals with the study of multiphase conductors in relationship with the Alexandrov mean. The main result establishes that Aleksandrov's mean for the effective linear conductivity of multiphase conductors is exact for a class of material systems with two-dimensional isotropic microstructures. A key argument in the proof is the successive use of iterated dilute homogenization. The main result provides a more rigorous basis for the use of the Aleksandrov mean to estimate the effective conductivity in terms of the local properties.
