Conservative attitudes to old-established organs: Oliver Lodge and \textit{Philosophical Magazine} (English)
      0 references
Following its founding in 1798, the British monthly `Philosophical Magazine' evolved from a general scientific digest into a journal concentrating on original research in mathematics and physics. Contributors included Kelvin, Rutherford, and Niels Bohr, but the `Magazine' increasingly found itself in a backwater position, compared to journals of the Royal Society and the Physical Society. This article focuses on Oliver Lodge's decades on the editorial board, commencing in 1911, and relates the non-mainstream tendencies of the `Magazine' to those of Lodge's own physics.
