Numerical simulation of viscous incompressible fluid in a short plane channel with backward-facing step (English)
0 references
The flow of a viscid incompressible fluid in the planar channel of a zone of sudden widening has very complex structures (vortices, turbulent phenomena, chaos, etc.). Here, the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are applied for the modeling and numerical investigation of the characteristics of the flow near of an output boundary of the tunnel. Special attention is paid to deformations of flow vortices, due to the short length of the tunnel.
