In this paper, an example of a three-layered cylinder in axial coordinate is used to illustrate the development of a mathematical model and a method of determining the steady-state temperature and stress distributions in a thermosensitive cylinder. It is assumed that the heat flux is directed at one of the bounding surfaces of the cylinder, and the heat removal by liquid evaporation takes place through the other surface. Besides, there are heat sources distributed by parabolic law in the second layer of the cylinder, and perfect thermal contact conditions are fulfilled between the layers. Dependences of thermomechanical properties of the cylinder materials on temperature and evaporation intensity are studied, as well as their effect on the character and the level of the temperature and stress distributions.
