The one-dimensional second-order elliptic Schrödinger equation \[ -\epsilon^2u''-f(x)u=0 \] is solved numerically applying a new multiscale discontinuous Galerkin method. Here \(\epsilon >0 \) is a small parameter and \( f(x) \) is a real-valued smooth function independent of \( \epsilon \). If \( f \) is positive, the solution of the equation is a wave function. The interesting and novel part of the work is the \( L^2 \) projection onto the space of piecewise exponential function. The proposed method is verified with providing numerical examples and error analysis. The mentioned references are recent works on the problem.
