The authors consider equations describing a steady laminar flow and heat transfer of fluid towards a melting surface in two spatial dimensions. The flow along the \(y\) axis hits the surface and goes left and right symmetrically, leaving the stagnation point in the origin. The boundary value problem is solved numerically by the shooting method. The numerical analysis of the problem reveals the boundaries of the current thermo-physical models as well as a number of facts about the behaviour of the system.
