Let \(\sigma_j\), \(j=1,\ldots,n\), be positive Borel measures on \(\mathbb{R}^d\), \(\mathcal{D}\) the set of all dyadic cubes in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) and \(K\) a map from \(\mathcal{D}\) to \([0,\infty)\). This paper presents a characterization of the \(n\)-linear embedding theorem on \(\mathbb{R}^d\). More precisely, the author first proves that, when \(1<p_i<\infty\) and \(\sum_{i=1}^n\frac1{p_i}\geq 1\), then the embedding inequality \[ \sum_{Q\in\mathcal{D}}K(Q)\prod_{i=1}^n\bigg|\int_{Q'}f_id\sigma_i\bigg|\leq C\prod_{i=1}^n\|f_i\|_{L^{p_i}(d\sigma_i)} \] holds if and only if the \((n-1)\)-linear embedding inequality \[ \sum_{Q'\subset Q}K(Q')\sigma_j(Q')\prod_{i=1,\;i\neq j}^n\bigg|\int_Qf_id\sigma_i\bigg|\leq C\sigma_j(Q)^{1/p_j}\prod_{i=1,\;i\neq j}^n\|f_i\|_{L^{p_i}(d\sigma_i)} \] holds for all \(j\in\{1,\ldots,n\}\) and \(Q\in \mathcal{D}\). Based on this, the author further proves that the first inequality above holds if and only if the following \(n\)-weight discrete Wolff potential condition holds: for all \(\phi\in {S}_n\), \[ \bigg\|\mathcal{W}^{r_1^{\phi},\ldots,r_{n-1}^\phi}_{K;\sigma_{\phi(1),\ldots,\sigma_{\Phi(n-1)}}} [\sigma_{\phi(n)}]^{1/r_{n-1}^{\phi}} \bigg\|_{L^r(d\sigma_{\phi(n)})}<\infty. \] Here, \(S_n\) is the symmetric group consisting of all permutations of the set \(\{1,\ldots,n\}\). For \(\phi\in S_n\), \(r_0:=1\), \(\frac1{r_1^\phi}+\frac1{p_{\phi(1)}}=1\), \(\ldots\), \(\frac1{r_{n-1}^\phi}+\sum_{i=1}^{n-1}\frac1{p_{\phi(i)}}=1\), \(\frac1r+\sum_{i=1}^{n}\frac1{p_{\phi(i)}}=1\), \(K_0^\phi(Q):=K_0(Q):=K(Q)\) and \[ K_j^\phi(Q):=K_{j-1}^{\phi}(Q)\sigma_{\phi(j)}(Q)\bigg(\frac1{\sigma_{\phi(j)(Q)}} \sum_{Q'\subset Q}K_{j-1}^\phi(Q')\prod_{i=j}^n\sigma_{\phi(i)}(Q') \bigg)^{r_j^\phi/r_{j-q}^\phi-1}, \] \[ \mathcal{W}^{r_1^{\phi},\ldots,r_{n-1}^\phi}_{K;\sigma_{\phi(1),\ldots,\sigma_{\Phi(n-1)}}} [\sigma_{\phi(n)}](x):=\sum_{Q\in\mathcal{D}}K_{n-1}^\phi(Q)\chi_Q(x). \]
