The authors consider the Edwards-Wilkinson interface [\textit{S. F. Edwards} and \textit{D. R. Wilkinson}, ``The surface statistics of a granular aggregate'', Proc. R. Soc. Lond. Ser. A 381, No. 1780, 17--31 (1982; \url{doi:10.1098/rspa.1982.0056})] and envisage a dynamical scenario in which the evolution is repeatedly interrupted, with a resetting to the initial flat configuration, where two successive resets are separated by a random time interval \(\tau\) distributed according to a power-law: NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\rho(\tau)=\frac{\alpha}{\tau_0(\tau/\tau_0)^{1+\alpha}}; \;\;\tau\in [\tau_0,\infty), \;\;\alpha>0,NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(\tau_0\) is a microscopic cut-off. It is shown that the distribution of interface fluctuations exhibits a rich behavior with multiple crossovers on tuning the exponent \(\alpha\) of the power-law distribution.
