This paper is another detailed contribution of the author to the precise description of the social context of the `maestri d'abaco' activity in the late middle ages in Firenze and nearby towns. More precisely, the paper deals with the life and deeds of two `maestri d'abaco': Giovanni dei Sodi (died 1510/11) and Francesco Galigai (1488--1537), between the end of the middle ages and the beginning of the modern era in Firenze. The great amount of edited details about such context gives us a carefully presented social scenery of this phase of the history of Renaissance mathematics.
