The authors consider a class of trees which contains the caterpillars. In particular they characterize those trees of this class with equal domination and broadcast numbers. Their results generalize some work of \textit{S.\,M. Seager} [Ars. Comb. 88, 307--319 (2008; Zbl 1224.05381)].
