Introduction to numerical and analytical methods with MATLAB for engineers and scientists (English)
0 references
The rough contents of this textbook are as follows: Chapter 1 Computer programming with MATLAB for engineers, Chapter 2 MATLAB Fundamentals, Chapter 3 Taylor series, self-written functions and MATLAB's interpolation, Chapter 4 Matrices, Chapter 5 Roots of algebraic and transcendental equations, Chapter 6 Numerical integration, Chapter 7 Numerical integration of ordinary differential equations, Chapter 8 Boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations, Chapter 9 Curve fitting, Chapter 10 Simulink, Chapter 11 Optimization, Chapter 12 Iteration method, Chapter 13 Partial differential equations and Chapter 14 Laplace transforms. The textbook also contains five appendices, a function index and a subject index. Each chapter ends up with exercises and projects, the latter being more complicated than the former.NEWLINENEWLINEThe textbook provides in a very simple and clear way the first skills in computer programming under the MATLAB platform. The author uses various mathematical concepts (matrices, roots of equations, integration, ordinary differential equations, interpolation, etc.) in order to solve mathematical problems associated with engineering type problems. These problems come from civil, mechanical, electrical and aeronautical engineering. They are of low difficulty and do not involve sophisticated mathematical and programming knowledge. A lot of MATLAB codes (scripts and functions) are provided with detailed comments including debugging. The graphic of the work is fairly suggestive and assists a smooth learning.
