Integrability conditions of trigonometric series \(g(x):=\sum _{n=1}^\infty \lambda _n\sin nx\) and \(f(x):=\sum _{n=1}^\infty \lambda _n\cos nx\) are studied in the paper. \textit{S. Tikhonov} [JIPAM. J. Inequal. Pure Appl. Math. 5, 7 pp. (2004; Zbl 1056.42006)] in two theorems gave sufficient conditions for \(f(x)\) and \(g(x)\) to belong to the weighted Orlicz space \(L(\Phi ,\gamma)=\bigl \{h:\int _0^\pi \gamma (x)\,\Phi \bigl (\varepsilon \,| h(x)| \bigr)\,{\operatorname {d}}x<\infty \) for some \(\varepsilon >0\bigr \}\) where \(\Phi \) is a~nondecreasing continuous function with \(\Phi (0)=0\) and \(\lim _{t\to \infty}\Phi (t)=\infty \) and \(\gamma \)~is an almost everywhere positive locally integrable weight function. One of the assumptions was that the sequence of coefficients is of ``rest bounded variation'' (\textit{R\(^+_0\)}BVS). \textit{L. Leindler} [JIPAM. J. Inequal. Pure Appl. Math. 8, 6pp. (2007; Zbl 1214.42006)] improved on these theorems and replaced the assumption \textit{R\(^+_0\)}BVS for coefficients with the property ``mean rest bounded variation'' (MRBVS). The aim of the paper under review is to extend Tikhonov's and Leindler's results by replacing properties \textit{R\(^+_0\)}BVS and MRBVS with ``mean rest bounded variation of second order'' (MRBSVS), i.e., \(\sum _{n=2m}^\infty | \Delta ^2\lambda _n+\Delta ^2\lambda _{n+1}| \leq \frac Km\sum _{n=m}^{2m-1}| \lambda _n-\lambda _{n+2}| \).
