Super-remote points (English)

The main purpose of the paper is to introduce a certain kind of points in the remainder of a non-compact metrizable space. The author calls them \textit{super-remote points}. It is shown (Theorem 1.1.) that every non-compact metrizable space has super-remote points in its remainder. It is also shown that if \(X\) is metrizable and nowhere \(ccc\), then every super-remote point of \(X^*\) is not in the closure of any \(ccc\) subset of \(\beta X \setminus \{p\}\). This result partially answers a question posed by \textit{J. van Mill} in [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 273, 657--678 (1982; Zbl 0498.54022)].
