In this paper the author shows the existence of a convex set in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) which arises from a \((d-2)\)-dimensional edge length minimizing sequence on the whole family of \(d\)-dimensional polytopes \(T\) in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) of volume \(\mathcal{H}^d(T)=1\). The minimizer \(P\) is a generalized convex polytope of volume 1 with finite \(\mathcal{H}^{d-2}\)-measure of its ``edge set''. Furthermore, \(\mathcal{H}^{d-2}\)-almost all the points in the boundary of \(P\) are either ``face points'' or points which have a neighborhood in \(\partial P\) lying in two transverse hyperplanes.NEWLINENEWLINEMoreover, the lower-semicontinuity (with respect to the Hausdorff metric) at \(P\) of the Hausdorff measure \(\mathcal{H}^{d-2}\) of the \((d-2)\)-dimensional skeleton is also proven.
