A note on homological dimensions of Artinian local cohomology modules (Q2861265)

Let \((R, \mathfrak{m})\) denote a local ring. For an \(R\)-module \(M\) let \(H^i_{\mathfrak{m}}(M)\) denote the local cohomology of \(M\) with respect to the maximal ideal \(\mathfrak{m}\). The author investigates the injective dimension and the flat dimension of the Artinian \(R\)-module \(H^i_{\mathfrak{m}}(M)\) under localizations of \(M\). For a prime ideal \(\mathfrak{p}\) and an integer \(i \geq \dim R/\mathfrak{p}\) the following is shown:NEWLINENEWLINE (i) \(\text{injdim}_{R_{\mathfrak{p}}} H^{i-\dim R/\mathfrak{p}}_{\mathfrak{p}R_{\mathfrak{p}}}(M_{\mathfrak{p}}) \leq \text{injdim}_R H^i_{\mathfrak{m}}(M)\) andNEWLINENEWLINE(ii) \(\text{flatdim}_{R_{\mathfrak{p}}} H^{i-\dim R/\mathfrak{p}}_{\mathfrak{p}R_{\mathfrak{p}}}(M_{\mathfrak{p}}) \leq \text{flatdim}_R H^i_{\mathfrak{m}}(M)\).NEWLINENEWLINEThese results grow out of the author's results on the finiteness of extension and torsion functors of Artinian local cohomology modules.
