Count model with gamma and Erlang interarrival time distributions (English)
0 references
In the paper, the authors study the renewal counting process \(N(t)\) in the case where the underlying distribution is Erlang, i.e. a gamma distribution \( f(x,\alpha ,\beta )\) where \(\beta >0\) and \(\alpha \) is an integer. The authors obtain various expressions for the mean and the variance of \(N(t)\) when \(\alpha =1,2,3\) and the paper contains a real data application.
