Given a convex quadrilateral \(Q\), a \(v\)-parallelogram of \(Q\) is a parallelogram \(V\) inscribed in \(Q\) and having the sides parallel to the diagonals of \(Q\). For every vertex of a \(v\)-parallelogram of \(Q\), we can consider the perpendicular segment from the vertex to the opposite side. The orthic quadrilateral of \(Q\) associated to \(V\) is the convex quadrilateral whose vertices are the feet of these perpendicular segments. The authors prove that if \(Q\) is a quadrilateral such that its vertices lie on a circle and its diagonals are perpendicular, then the orthic quadrilateral of \(Q\) inscribed in \(Q\) with maximum area is that associated to the parallelogram \(V\) whose vertices are the midpoints of the sides of \(Q\). This was conjectured by \textit{M. F. Mammana} et al. [Forum Geom. 10, 79--91 (2010; Zbl 1211.51009)]. Arguments of calculus and algebra are used in the proof. There is a second proof of the same result in [\textit{G. Nicollier}, ibid. 16, 233--239 (2016; Zbl 1344.51005)] that is based on symmetric differences of orthic triangles.
