On the distance between perfect numbers (English)

Let \(n, m\) be distinct perfect numbers, and let \(\delta=|n-m|\) denote their distance. It is known that \(\delta>1\). If one could prove that \(\delta\) is always even, then it would follow that no perfect number is odd.NEWLINENEWLINEThe present author shows that \(\delta\nmid n\). The author also proves that there exist infinitely many triangular numbers \(\delta\equiv 3\pmod{12}\) such that \(|x-y|=\delta\) has no solutions with both \(x\) and \(y\) perfect numbers.
