The authors show how the geometry can be generalized to a Finsler structure. In the paper a new property of the manifold is introduced: color. It is shown that the color brings forth an intrinsic local anisotropy and to a `supporting' direction. The direction dependence and some physical interpretations are discussed. The authors show that in Finsler geometry the parallel displacement is not necessary along the `supporting' direction. It is shown that: (a) the `supporting' direction is a fundamental congruence of the manifold and induces a natural \(3+1\) decomposition; (b) its internal deformation is given through the evolution of the irreducible components of vorticity, shear, and expansion.
