Author's introduction: The category of \(n\)-racks has been introduced by the author [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 349, No. 17--18, 957--960 (2011; Zbl 1273.17006)] as a generalization of the category of left distributive left quasigroups [\textit{D. M. Larue}, Commun. Algebra 27, No. 5, 2003--20029 (1999; Zbl 0940.20070)], or simply racks [J. Conway and G. Wraith, Unpublished correspondence (1958)], and was shown to be associated to the category of Leibniz \(n\)-algebras [\textit{J. M. Casas} et al., Forum Math. 14, No. 2, 189--207 (2002; Zbl 1037.17002)]. In the pursue of studying the structure of this new category, we study in this paper the notion of \(n\)-subracks and explore several classical examples such as the normalizer, the center of a \(n\)-rack, and the components of a decomposable \(n\)-rack. In section 4, we provide several properties of decomposable \(n\)-racks.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 89, No. 1, 217--240 (2004; Zbl 1055.55005)], \textit{R. Fenn} et al. introduced a cohomology theory for racks which was modified in [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 355, No. 10, 3947--3989 (2003; Zbl 1028.57003)] by \textit{J. S. Carter} et al. to obtain quandle cohomology, and several results have been recently established. In section 5, we use these cohomology theories to define cohomology theories on \(n\)-racks and \(n\)-quandles.
