The Karlin-McGregor formula for paths connected with a clique (English)

The author has derived the Karlin-McGregor formula in [Stochastics 84, No. 2--3, 383--392 (2012; Zbl 1257.81048)], without using the spectral theory for self-adjoint operators. Similarities between interacting Fock-space like structure and random walks on graphs are coming to the attention of the researchers, under the mediation of the Karlin-McGregor formula.NEWLINENEWLINE In the present paper, the author introduces a new variant of the direct sum of one-mode interacting Fock spaces, called the truncated direct sum. The corresponding graph structure of a one-mode interacting Fock space is just an infinite path consisting of nonnegative integers. Furthermore, the author shows how to obtain the measures therein by means of generating functions, giving an example of concrete computation by a free Fock space.
