Let \(X\) be a nonempty set. A pair \((X,d)\) is called a distance space if \(d: X\times X\to [0,\infty)\). A distance space is said to be a quasi-pseudo metric space if \(d\) satisfies the following properties for every \(x,y,z\in X\): NEWLINE\[NEWLINE(1)\qquad d(x,x)= 0,\qquad (2)\qquad d(x,z)\leq d(x,y)+ d(y,z).NEWLINE\]NEWLINE For each quasi-pseudo metric space, there exists a topology \(\tau_d\) determined by \(d\). For a sequence \((x_n)\) in a quasi-pseudo metric space the notion of left \(K\)-complete space was defined by \textit{V. Gregori} and \textit{J. Pastor} [Rend. Ist. Mat. Univ. Trieste 30, Suppl., 103--109 (1999; Zbl 0935.54032)].NEWLINENEWLINE Let \((X,d)\) be a quasi-pseudo metric space. We denote \(d_\Lambda(x,y)= \min\{d(x,y), d(y,x)\}\). A nonempty set \(A\) of \(X\) satisfy the condition \((S)\) if for each \(z\in x\), there exists \(a\in X\) such that \(d(z,A)= d(z,a)\) and \(S(X)= \{A\subseteq X: A=\emptyset\), \(A\) is \(\tau_d\)-closed and satisfies condition \((S)\}\).NEWLINENEWLINE For each \(x\in X\) and \(A,B\subseteq X: d(x,A)= \text{inf}\{d(x,a); x\in A\}\), \(d(A,B)= \text{inf}\{d(a,b); a\in A\) and \(b\in B\}\), \(d_H(A,B)=\sup\{d(x,B): x\in A\}\). -- The main result of this paper is Theorem 2.1. which generalizes the result of Gregori and Pastor [loc. cit.].NEWLINENEWLINE Theorem 2.1. Let \((X,d)\) be a left \(K\)-sequentially complete quasi-pseudo metric space and \(T: X\to S(X)\) satisfying condition \(d_H(Tx, Ty)\leq qd_\Lambda(x,y)\), for all \(x,y\in X\) and \(q\in (0,1)\). Then \(T\) has a fixed point.
