Recently, generalized forms of continuous and open functions have been studied in the literature. In order to unify several characterizations and properties of some kind of forms of continuous and open functions, the authors introduce and study the notion of \(\mu\mu'\)-continuous functions and \(\mu\mu'\)-open functions.NEWLINENEWLINE Let \(X\), \(Y\) be nonempty sets and \(\mu\subseteq 2^X\), \(\mu'\subseteq 2^Y\) be any collections of \(X\) and \(Y\), respectively.NEWLINENEWLINE Definition 1. A function \(f:X\to Y\) is said to be \(\mu\mu'\)-continuous if \(f^{-1}(V)\in\mu\), whenever \(V\in\mu'\).NEWLINENEWLINE Definition 2. A function \(f:X\to Y\) is said to be \(\mu\mu'\)-open if \(f(U)\in\mu'\), whenever \(U\in\mu\).NEWLINENEWLINE Some characterizations and several properties are obtained in the case of generalized topologies [\textit{Á. Császár}, Acta Math. Hung. 96, No. 4, 351--357 (2002; Zbl 1006.54003)] and \(m,M\)-continuity from [the reviewer and \textit{T. Noiri}, On \(M\)-continuous functions, Anal.
