Asymptotics of modified Bessel functions of high order (Q2879591)

The authors give two sets of asymptotic expansions for the modified Bessel functions \(I_{\nu}(z)\) and \(K_{\nu}(z)\). The first set involves the Stirling numbers of second kind and the second one the generalized Bernoulli numbers and polynomials. Also, they give an asymptotic expansion for the product of \(I_{\nu}(z)\) and \(K_{\nu}(z)\) and finally they compare all the expansions with those existing in the literature.
