The author considers the Pell's equation \(X^2-DY^2=1\), where \(X,Y\) and \(D\) are polynomials over \(\mathbb Z\). Assume that \(D=A^2+C\) for some polynomials \(A,C\in \mathbb Z[X]\) such that \(A/C \in \mathbb Q[X] \setminus \mathbb Z [X]\). The author finds conditions for which non trivial polynomial solutions exist. He uses his results to compute for several choices of \(A\) and \(C\) the fundamental solution to Pell's equation \(X^2-DY^2=1\).
